WOODEN PLAQUE FEATURING LOVELY PHOTO OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN ALONGSIDE HIS ADAGE: A LAWYERS TIME AND ADVICE ARE HIS STOCK IN TRADE, with A Facsimile Signature; 12.5 x 9.45- x .375-inch sturdy, beautifully finished wood plaque with a dark gold-trimmed insert at the center secured under a thick glossy surface; the insert has a tiny credit at the lower left corner - West Publishing Co.; the unfinished back of the plaque contains a brass hanging ridge which will allow you to put it up with the help of a single nail or screw; the company label - which looks decades old, hypes the "hanger" and the "Perma Plaque," a copyrighted product from the company located in Hollywood, CA; excellent condition very close to like new.
I've looked at the front from every angle and could only discern a few tiny surface scratches just above the light band framing Lincoln's hair and portrait; you have to search to find it as it's not visible when looking at it straight-on, and certainly not from a distance of a few feet or more. The plaque has good weight and is a solid piece of hardwood with soft beveling at the edges.
It's rare, with no matches on eBay and none found in a quick Google search. There is a black and white version of the image, with Lincoln's photo over the quote, under glass within a plain black wooden frame. Also vintage and undated, in very good condition, it's .00 + .55 shipping. My excellent "Perma Plaque" is much more attractive, not quite as big, and looks like it was built to last generations. It's a great collectible for Lincoln buffs and would be a splendid gift for new or veteran attorneys.
