Antique 1900 Land Deed-Oglethorpe County, Ga-Adkins-Jackson-25c Document Stamp

Description

Offered is this antique land deed from Oglethorpe County, Georgia, dated January 8, 1900. The document records a transfer of land between William Adkins and W. S. and J. E. Jackson. There is a brown 25 cent Documentary Internal Revenue Stamp, Series of 1898, featuring a warship. The usual county clerk information is on the back.
The document measures approx. 13 1/2" x 8 1/2". Most of it is in good condition for its age, although there is a small piece of one upper corner that is missing. Because it has been folded several times some tears have developed on the document edges at the fold lines. There are a few small stains. The writing is very dark and easily readable.
The document will be sent folded.
